The Athletic Coordinator is responsible for managing the Athletics program’s operations while also designing and refining curriculum to enhance student learning. This role ensures program quality, compliance, and staff development while fostering a positive and enriching environment for students. Responsibilities include curriculum development, program planning, staff supervision, student recruitment, attendance tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Design and develop engaging, age-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and educational materials.

Incorporate technology and multimedia elements to enhance learning experiences.

Align curriculum with state educational standards and best practices.

Assess student progress and refine curriculum based on feedback and performance data.

Train and mentor program staff on effective curriculum implementation.

Ensure curriculum supports diverse learning styles and fosters critical thinking skills.

Oversee daily athletics programming operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching experience for students.

Manage student recruitment, attendance tracking, and retention strategies.

Supervise and evaluate program staff, providing ongoing training and mentorship.

Ensure compliance with all state/local/federal and grant requirements.

Maintain program budgets, track expenses, and report variances.

Serve as the primary liaison between school administration, parents, and Arc leadership.

Oversee program logistics, including supply ordering, inventory management, program schedules, and transportation.

Create and distribute promotional materials such as newsletters, calendars, and social media updates.
Student & Stakeholder Engagement

Develop and implement creative strategies to increase student participation.

Build strong relationships with parents, school administrators, and community partners.

Conduct stakeholder surveys and develop action plans based on feedback.

Organize and facilitate events, activities, and training sessions.
Compliance & Safety

Maintain all required program compliance documentation.

Align the program with California Expanded Learning Quality Standards.

Conduct safety drills and ensure all emergency plans are up-to-date.

Ensure all program activities adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
-
Official / unofficial college transcripts that confirms 48 completed college units (60 units for high school) or a passing score on an academic proficiency exam
-
Bachelor's degree in physical education or sports management, or a related field.

2-3 years in a supervisory role, leading a team or staff.
-
Experience working with youth in diverse communities.
-
CPR Certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) preferred.

Knowledge of behavior management and classroom engagement techniques.

Additional Requirements:

Negative TB test result and COVID-19 vaccination record.

Completion of Live Scan background check.

Availability to work before/after school hours, weekends, and some overnights.

Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds and remain active for extended periods.
The Athletics Coordinator position is full-time and non-exempt. This position reports to the Regional Manager of the school site.
