They are currently seeking an Operations People Manager to join their team and play a key role in overseeing operations and people management, ensuring the smooth functioning of the business as they continue to scale.
Position Overview:
The Operations People Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for managing both the day-to-day operations and the people who make the company run. This position will oversee operational efficiency, payroll, human resources functions, and internal communications while ensuring that all teams are aligned, supported, and empowered to succeed. This individual will work closely with the Principal Designer and the Design Team Project Manager to ensure seamless integration between design and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
People Management
- Team Calibration & Communication:
- Hold weekly, biweekly, or monthly calibration meetings with direct reports, including Junior Designers, Marketing Team, and Showroom Ambassadors.
- Coordinate weekly meetings with the Principal Designer for ongoing project updates, issue resolution, and feedback.
- Partner with the Design Team Project Manager to manage Senior Designers' time, scheduling, and workload, with additional responsibilities after a 90-day onboarding period.
Operations Management
- Oversee and manage building operations, ensuring optimal use of space and resources.
- Handle employee reimbursements and ensure timely processing.
- Manage staff scheduling for both office locations, ensuring appropriate coverage.
- Provide operational support to the Design Team Project Manager, contributing up to 10 hours per week.
Payroll and Accounting
- Administer payroll execution on a biweekly basis.
- Manage weekly commission execution for relevant team members.
- Handle bill pay (excluding purchases via our purchasing agent) on a weekly basis.
- Record financial transactions in QuickBooks and maintain accurate dashboard records.
- Perform daily monitoring of financial transactions and bank activity, addressing fraud alerts and necessary follow-up with financial institutions.
- Conduct proactive research on insurance options and implement beneficial programs on a quarterly basis.
Human Resources Management
- Document and approve employee PTO, sick days, and other benefits requests.
- Oversee and manage employee 401(k) requirements.
- Lead onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring they are set up for success from day one.
- Conduct biannual employee performance reviews and progress checks.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a people operations, office management, or similar operational management role, preferably within a design or creative services industry.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, payroll management, and general accounting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Experience with HR processes, including onboarding, performance reviews, and employee benefits management.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in operational challenges.
