What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Rainbow - Camp Lifeguard position at Arc GLOW?
Summary: Assist Aquatics director with planning, instruction and supervision of swimming activities.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises pool activities.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations and maintain order.
- Teach swimming if applicable.
- Teach pool activities and games.
- Teach buddy system and conduct swimming tests.
- Report any medical problems or incidents to Aquatics Director.
- Enforce Safety procedures in pool area.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Participates in quality assurance and compliance activities as requested.
Non-essential Functions: Provides supervision and assistance to campers during lunch and at times when the pool is closed.
Reporting Responsibilities:
Reports to: Aquatics Director
Supervisory Responsibilities: None exercised
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to provide consistent feedback and reinforcement to children. Able to work in collaboration with other pool and camp staff. Training provided on maintenance and operation of the pool as needed.
Physical Requirements: Able to perform lifeguard duties and respond in a rescue situation.
Working conditions: Camp environment, partially indoors/outdoors, pool setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have or be able to obtain current lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid certification acceptable by Health Department Regulations, before that start of camp.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
