The Job Developer is responsible for completing intake activities, reporting for ACCES-VR and OPWDD and for matching job seekers, volunteers and unpaid interns to well-suited, goal-oriented opportunities in the community.

Essential Functions:
Building relationships with employers: Identifying businesses with suitable job openings and fostering partnerships to promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Marketing job seekers to potential employers
- Negotiating job accommodations and support
- Assist and support people to build positive relationships in their community.
- Assisting with vocational assessments as necessary.
- Developing individualized employment plans as necessary.
- Provide needed support and encouragement for people served to advocate for their needs and rights.
- Provide training on appropriate grooming and hygiene for work as necessary.
- Provide job coaching and follow-along services as necessary
- Communicate professionally with people receiving services, families and the community as necessary.
- Complete all the required paperwork and daily documentation as needed including required reports, checklists, progress notes etc.
- Provided transportation to people served as necessary.
- Complete all required Agency Training per agency policy
- Adhere to all Agency and Program Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in corporate compliance and quality assurance activities as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Attend Life Plan meetings and team meetings for people receiving services as requested.
- Participate in Agency committees.
- Administer medications as trained and as designated.

- Ability to assist an adult with personal care needs
- Be physically able to assist individuals in transferring from wheelchair to another seat when needed
- Ability to assist individuals with ambulation
- Ability to move chairs, tables and access storage areas.
- Ability to drive.
- May involve frequent travel to off-site locations including job/volunteer locations, community recreational sites and personal residences.
- May require evening and weekend work.
- May require use of personal vehicle.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with people with disabilities in an employment setting preferred
- Valid NYS driver’s license with a safe driving record per agency policy
