Job Summary:
$20/hour - Residential Support Staff Wanted!
ARC of NH is accepting applications from caregiving support professionals who are interested in being part of new residential program on a fulltime basis. All support staff will enjoy a 42-hour average work week with an $20 hourly wage. In addition, staff have every other weekend off while also enjoying 7 days off in every two-week work cycle.
This new program will provide a residential home for three elder individuals who have developmental disabilities, coupled with underlying medical challenges. None of the residents are self-abusive or aggressive towards others. However, due to their disabilities and medical needs consistent supervision, emotional support, wheelchair assistance, and direct physical care will be required.
Current Openings: 4 Fulltime Positions (2 Daytime & 2 Overnight Positions)
All Positions Include:
- $20/hour starting wage for all fulltime positions.
- 42-hour average work week: (Two-week rotating schedules)
- 12-hour workdays: (Day Shifts: 7am-7pm, "Awake" Overnight Shifts: 7p-7a)
- Paid Trainings
- Paid Certification to Administration Medications.
- Every other Weekend Off.
- 7 days Off in every two-week work schedule.
- Mileage Reimbursement (.50 cents per mile when doing community activities)
Please Note: Staff must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and liability automobile insurance coverage.
Duties Include:
- Providing physical direct care and emotional support to residents with disabilities and/or special needs.
- Assist residents with their personal hygiene such as: (bathing, grooming, and dressing.)
- Ability to assist residents in wheelchairs and with basic transfers.
- Assist residents with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if needed.
- Becoming Medication Administration Certified and administering medications according to prescribed schedules and nursing oversight.
- Assist with residential goals outlined to promote personal independence.
- Support residents in engaging in social activities and community outings.
- Provide transportation for residents to appointments, activities, and/or errands as needed. (Staff use their own vehicle and are reimbursed .50 cents a mile.)
Skills/Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain disorders. (Preferred, but not required)
- Having true compassion for others, a genuine interest to help those in need, and desire to help others expand their independence.
- First aid and CPR certification. (Preferred, but not required)
- Effective communication with co-workers and the resident's support team.
- Must pass general background checks and have a valid driver's license.
- Must have reliable registered transportation with liability auto insurance coverage.
