About the Position
We are looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team. This is a wide-spanning role that will support all aspects of human resources management across the organization, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, policy compliance, and training.
The position reports directly to the HR Director and will be classified as either HR Generalist I or HR Generalist II, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
Wage Range:
- HR Generalist I: $50,000 - $65,000 per year
- HR Generalist II: $60,000 - $75,000 per year
The position level will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skill set.
What You’ll Do:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment, from job postings and interviews to hiring and onboarding new employees.
- Employee Relations: Act as a liaison between employees and management to address concerns and resolve workplace issues.
- Benefits Administration: Oversee employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, and assist employees with benefits-related questions.
- Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as internal organizational policies and procedures.
- Training & Development: Coordinate and deliver training programs to support professional development and organizational goals.
- Payroll Support: Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate HR records and generate HR-related reports as needed.
- Investigation: Assist and/or lead simple to complex investigations into employee concerns and policy violations, ensuring thorough documentation, sensitivity, and clear communication with actionable recommendations.
- Management Consultation: Advise employees and/or leadership on employee performance, conflict resolution, and HR policy implementation, offering strategic guidance on the legal and practical aspects of HR decisions.
- HR Initiatives: Work with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and organizational performance. Contribute to workforce planning and support initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity.
What You’ll Bring:
HR Generalist I (Entry-Level to Mid-Level):
- Some experience (typically 1-3 years) in an HR Generalist or related role.
- Knowledge of labor laws, benefits administration, and general HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills.
HR Generalist II (Mid-Level to Experienced):
- Extensive experience (typically 3 years) as an HR Generalist or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR systems.
- Proven ability to handle complex HR issues and employee relations matters.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various office and community settings.
- Ability to assist with HR-related tasks that may require some physical movement or activity.
