What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECT HIRE Planer Mill Supervisor position at Arcadia Staffing?
Responsibilities:
- Oversee planer mill operations and provide leadership for process improvement.
- Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety at all times, leading by example and ensuring the team follows all policies, procedures, practices and OSHA regulations
- Work with Mill Manager, peers and supervisors to develop production schedules and coordinate operations to ensure highest practical output and efficiency
- Identify and assist in the troubleshooting of equipment
- Facilitate proactive problem-solving
- Coach, train, and support employees to maximize performance while ensuring production meets quality standards and quality specifications.
- Ensure the timely implementation of key Corporate and operational initiatives
- Work with Maintenance to coordinate preventive maintenance, expedite repairs, and schedule equipment updates, additions, and/or replacements.
- Improve and maintain department performance according to set objectives and established goals for safety, quality, waste reduction, housekeeping, and process reliability
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of sawmill and/or planer mill experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
- Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set
- Track record of success in a complex and fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability in leading a team
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other Windows based programs and internet skills
- Willing and able to accept and respond to after hour's calls, work weekends/holidays as needed
- Working knowledge of business and financial concepts
- Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals
- Able and willing to perform the essential job requirements such as working at heights, climbing stairs, working in extreme heat or cold, or working in confined/restricted spaces.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
