Role description:

To support this, we have a global team dedicated to creating the tools and resources needed by client-facing and administrative Arcadians to integrate sustainability into every project and every business practice.

This results in a large volume of materials and information that need to be shared with the business through appropriate channels. As an Engagement Specialist and Global Sustainability’s internal communications lead, you will help make sure that all this information gets to the right people at the right time through the right channels. Your work will help build a culture of sustainability across Arcadis’ regions and business lines.

Reports to the Global Sustainability Director

Role accountabilities:

The Engagement Specialist will be part of the broader Global Sustainability team and will be responsible for:

  • Taking technical information and creating engaging presentations, intranet pages, or infographics
  • Updating and maintaining content on the Global Sustainability Intranet pages, including structural reorganizations, when necessary
  • Coordinating informational sessions between the Global Sustainability Team and groups within Arcadis who need information about Arcadis’ actions to become more sustainable and our sustainability strategy
  • Supporting EMS Network internal communications and events (e.g., Zero Emissions Day)
  • Being the custodian of the client-ready ‘Our Sustainability Journey’ presentation and responsible for its annual updating
  • Serving as the liaison with the GSSC graphics and copy-writing team
  • Leading the development and implementation of the internal communications calendar for Global Sustainability.

Actively participating in assigned Global Sustainability project teams, leading internal communications related to those projects Key deliverables:

  • Annual internal communications calendar
  • Intranet organization/improved user experience
  • Coordinating and developing content for informational sessions to increase overall understanding of sustainability at Arcadis
  • Contributing to a culture of sustainability and a focus on Improving Quality of Life across Arcadis
  • Respond to sustainability-focused RFP questions
  • Internal communications plans related to Global Sustainability projects

Key Shared Accountabilities:

  • With the Global Sustainability team:
    • Promote blogs and thought leadership created by members of the Global Sustainability Team
    • Build awareness of the work the Global Sustainability and the EMS Network are doing to manage our own carbon footprint
    • Create materials to educate Arcadians on important topics related to sustainability
    • Build a culture of sustainability by driving conversations and sharing resources in the Sustainability Engagement Network
    • Identify great examples of sustainable projects or sustainable office practices from across the business and share these with others, including creating case studies that can be shared internally and externally
    • Draft blogs for the external website in consultation with Arcadis Subject Matter Experts
  • Support preparation for events where Arcadis will have an external presence

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualification

  • Written communication proficiency in English.
  • Ability to create intranet pages, design event strategies, and manage communications.
  • Experience collecting and sharing updates from internal teams with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate with various teams and individuals.
  • Experience implementing change management processes aligned with organizational goals.
  • Experience developing and executing communication plans at the project and organizational levels.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Familiarity with Arcadis’s internal communication channels (preferred).
  • Experience in the sustainability field or demonstrated interest in sustainability (preferred).

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $80,461 - $123,374. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
