Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager for our Anchorage office who is responsible for multiple construction projects in Nome Alaska. The ideal candidate will have 6 years’ experience in the construction sector, is well networked, and comfortable handling multiple complex construction projects from preconstruction to warranty. This position will be on a rotational work schedule. Typical rotation is three weeks on-sites in Nome and one week back in Anchorage. Travel will be compensated as well as housing provided.

Role accountabilities:
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage multiple design and construction projects on behalf of Owners for a variety of projects ranging from new building construction to building renovations or tenant improvements and or utility projects. Project sites will predominately in Nome Alaska and may be located on Military and or Federal lands
- Prepare and manage solicitations and selection process for related project vendors and/or suppliers, General Contractors, etc.
- Oversee and manage the project design process to assure Owner’s needs are met within the proposed budget and schedule. Assist in the development of the building program, facilitate design meetings, monitor design progress and facilitate decision making, prepare written review comments at submittal phases, facilitate value engineering workshops, and other project components as needed to assure a successful outcome
- Knowledgeable organizing and or leading the pre-construction meetings, participating in weekly construction meetings, visit site(s) to monitor construction progress, process ASIs/RFIs, review/process Contractor and A/E pay applications, review and negotiate change order requests, prepare contract amendments, prepare monthly project status reports, monitor the project schedule, budget and risk management, maintain document control files, and general project close-out activities
- Provide on-site construction QA when necessary to ensure project is being constructed per design and specifications
- Review contractor submitted schedules, provide feedback to the Owner on construction progress, make corrective action recommendations to Owner and Contractor should critical path schedule delays become an issue
- Provide monthly budget reports documenting completion status and progress to date. Establish and maintain cost baselines against which program trends are measured and forecasted. Provide cost information to facilitate timely and informed decisions. Manage and oversee all change orders
- Be an active positive team member who is able to build positive relationships within internal and external Teams
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in the construction industry including 4 years’ experience managing small to medium sized projects
- Able to work on and oversee multiple projects. The successful candidate will be required to go to multiple project sites in Norm Alaska on a rotation schedule
- Professional accreditation in a relevant discipline (Construction Management, Cert. Construction Administrator, Cert. Construction Manager) or related project experience
- Strong technical skills related to project software
- Experience working with a wide range of professionals from final client teams, stakeholders or internal/external vendors/suppliers
- Ability to obtain access onto U.S. Military Installations and/or Federal Land projects
- Commitment to Health and Safety
- Valid Driver’s License
