What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compensation Analyst position at ArcBest?
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for administering the Compensation Strategy for the organization. This position is also responsible for performing project work as needed to help support ArcBest and its various subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Assign salary scales for all Senior Director and below roles in the organization.
- Analyze job descriptions and market data for internal and external alignment of compensation across the organization.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
- Lead and organize special projects.
- Improve efficiency in current processes.
- Coordinate and effectively communicate with leadership and employees regarding the Company's Compensation Strategy, pay tier assignments, geographical differentials, and all compensation offers.
- Administer incentive compensation plans.
- Assist in the administration of the Executive Compensation Plans.
- Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends within labor markets.
- Assess need for and develop job analysis instruments and materials.
- Prepare compensation increase schedules and advise leadership on step increases.
- Prepare evaluation and compensation analysis information by department.
- Approve requisitions within HRIS and work with Recruiting and business leaders in all compensation offers.
- Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports, to summarize job analyses for roles.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
Experience:
- Prior Human Resources or Compensation experience, preferred
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Details
Work Hours:
- Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Compensation:
- This is a salary position paid biweekly.
