We are recruiting an experienced National Guard Transition Records Support Specialist to join our team. Work is onsite in Marietta, GA.
POSITION DUTIES: Primary job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Facilitates seamless transition services for Soldiers and officers transitioning from the Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG).
- Supports Soldiers who are retiring, transferring to another military component, or being discharged.
- Responsible for overseeing the preparation of final military records for Soldiers departing the GAARNG, ensuring the process is thorough, efficient, and compliant with all regulations and standards.
- Processes and prepares final records for Soldiers departing the Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG), including separation orders and retirement documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Generates Retirement Certificates for state-level ceremonies, conduct retirement briefings, and address inquiries from the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and transitioning Soldiers.
- Collaborates with the DVA and GAARNG Medical Command to secure medical and personnel records, updates records trackers, and ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manages various tasks efficiently, providing timely and accurate support for Soldiers transitioning out of the GAARNG.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Applicants MUST have this experience:
- Proven experience in managing military records, particularly in transitions, separations, or retirements.
- In-depth understanding of ARNG regulations, policies, and procedures related to personnel transitions and records management.
- Proficient in using personnel records management systems, including iPERMS, HRR, and SAFE.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in document preparation, data entry, and records management.
- Ability to respond to inquiries and provide clear guidance to transitioning Soldiers.
- Proven ability to provide responsive and effective customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and federal/state guidelines for handling medical and personnel records.
WORK AUTHORIZATION:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
