Summary:

Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers primarily by phone to increase sales of an organization's products and/or services. Works with team members in the field including field sales. Provides support to customers over the phone.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Creates solutions to ensure a smooth sales process

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED - 1 - 3 years customer facing/business to business/sales experience

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
