Job Description
The long-term Athletic Trainer position is responsible for assisting in the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student-athletes in 26 interscholastic sports.
Desired Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physiology, or related field
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- NATA BOC certified
- Current certification in BLS CPR
- 3 years of experience (preferred)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion while handling sensitive mattersPrimary Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and emergency care for injured student-athletes.
- Provide athletic training services for home games, away football games, playoff games and otherselect games.
- Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate changing practice/game schedules.
- Assists in collecting, organizing, and maintaining all mandated medical forms required by school,section, and state governing bodies.
- Maintain computerized medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.
- Assist with the supervision of the student trainer program.
- Maintain a working relationship with a designated team physician and community physicians.
- Communicate with coaching staffs as well as athletic administration regarding injuries to student-athletes.
- Collaborates with the Interim Head AT on the rehabilitation and return-to-play procedures ofinjured athletes.Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 20-50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or move around the working environment as needed.
- Ability to travel safely and comfortably around our campus.
- Must be able and willing to drive school vehicles and carts.
- Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment.
- Ability to read information in printed material, on a computer screen, and/or on a mobiledevice/laptop for extended periods of time.
