Responsibilities
The Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for the Infection Prevention Program and tracking all infections, labs, antibiotics on an ongoing basis.
- The Infection Control Coordinator will be responsible for reporting Communicable diseases to the NYSDOH and the NYC DOH.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director/CNO/Administrator on any communicable diseases identified as reportable. Reports to the NYSDOH/NYCDOH and ensures all tracking is completed.
- Conducts Monthly Infection Control Audits; Joins the Environment of Care Rounds Team Weekly.
- Reports Infection Control data, trends, and antibiotic stewardship initiatives monthly.
- Serves as a resource for facility staff on all issues related to Infection Control Prevention.
- Provides In-Services on Infection Control Standards of Practices to Care Members in all departments on all shifts on an ongoing basis.
- Develops and implements standards of practice, policies, and procedures, particularly in problematic areas or areas of ambiguity.
- Provides support, guidance, and counseling as needed to patients and families.

Qualifications
- 1 year experience in an Infection Control position
- Infection Control Preventionist Certification, preferred

- Bachelor’s Degree
