Job Overview
The Archdiocese of Baltimore seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as the Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) Coordinator. This role plays a vital part in creating and supporting a culture of faith formation and discipleship making within the parish community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate youth ministry programs for middle school, high school, and young adults, including social, educational, spiritual activities, social justice, service, and outreach opportunities.
- Provide leadership and support for peer ministers and catechists, ensuring effective implementation of established resources and adherence to Catholic doctrine and moral teachings.
- Collaborate with the Pastor, Pastoral Associate, and pastoral staff to discern emerging youth and young adult ministry needs, aligning with the parish mission and Archdiocesan standards.
- Recruit and train adult leaders and youth participants, promoting a sense of community and responsibility among all members of the parish community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, or Youth Ministry, or current catechist certification.
- Minimum five years of experience in ministry or managing a youth program of significant complexity, preferably in a faith-based environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to work effectively with adults and children of all ages, demonstrating a commitment to the Church's mission and sharing that mission with youth and young adults.
