Description :
The Director of Music is an integral member of the Worship staff at St. Joseph’s Parish with responsibility for preparing music that serves the parish community and consistently reaches out to evangelize to all. With the goal of planning, facilitating, and leading joyful and engaging public worship for the parish, the Director works closely with the pastor and Director of liturgy, and collaborates with the pastoral staff, liturgical ministers, and other members of the parish as appropriate. The Director is committed to being a pastoral musician, who shares faith, serves the community, and expresses the love of God and neighbor by nurturing personal spiritual and ministerial growth. The Director of Music must support the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Joliet. This is a full-time benefited position.
Requirements :
- Demonstrate organ / piano and vocal proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in music or liturgical music with preference to include advanced education in music.
- A Catholic in good standing, who also supports the mission, vision and policies of the parish and the Diocese of Joliet.
