The Assistant to the Director of Admissions is responsible for the implementation of daily systems and operations, data management, and recruitment strategies for the Admissions Office. This individual will assist with undergraduate and graduate admissions customer relationship management (CRM) and will provide support with maintaining and strengthening those processes as they relate to recruitment for the college. This individual will assist undergraduate and graduate prospective students throughout the admissions process with continuous communication in various forms.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, has outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to build professional relationships with music directors and high school counselors. This entry level position requires responsibilities that will include attending events, college fairs, conventions, and visiting schools that may occur outside the normal workday. The ideal candidate will foster a successful and positive team environment and bring a high level of passion and enthusiasm to this important work.
Responsibilities:
- Update and track prospective leads as information is gathered
- Assist prospective students and their families through every step of the admissions process
- Manage student and prospect files and track the necessary materials needed for admission
- Communicate in response to inquiries from prospective and current applicants
- Assist in planning and coordinating recruitment events on and off campus
- Recruit for the college by attending various college fairs, conferences and school clinics
- Develop professional relationships to generate a personalized approach to recruitment
- Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and promotional materials
- Conduct tours of the facility and IIT campus for prospective students and their families
- Assist in the development and implementation of special admissions initiatives for the college

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of web-based communication tools (CRM, Google), Excel/Word and Google Suite
- Preference will be given to a candidate with background in music education or music administration
- 2 years of higher education admissions work, teaching or recruitment experience is preferred
