Coordinate the development and implementation of the leadership formation program (in-person and virtual) for National Pastoral Migratoria ® (NPM) in immigrant parish communities across the United States. NPM’s mission is to deliver systemic change and strengthen immigrant communities by sharing the model of Pastoral Migratoria ®, which is an immigrant leadership ministry of service, accompaniment and justice. Ensure high-quality culturally sensitive leadership development, training and continuous formation to lay parish leaders at diocesan sites. Support the development of NPM’s network of dioceses and pastoral leaders committed to responding to immigrant needs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and provide Pastoral Migratoria leadership formation to pastoral leaders at diocesan sites. Utilize in-person and virtual formats as appropriate.
- Support the Pastoral Migratoria implementation process, working in collaboration with the National Community Building Coordinator, a team of Formators, and the NPM Office*.
- Develop and implement initiatives for fellowship and continuous formation. Identify formation topics and develop the curriculum with Pastoral Migratoria leadership participation.
- Lead and foster the development of NPM’s network of dioceses and pastoral leaders working together on national strategies to respond to the needs of the immigrant community.
- Develop and update training manuals, guides and course materials including in-person and virtual formats and relevant cultural concepts.
- Develop and work closely with the local core team of diocesan representatives to identify volunteers for this ministry. Engage the community and adapt the Pastoral Migratoria program to local needs.
- Lead the implementation of the NPM Institute, and support its development and facilitation, to introduce Pastoral Migratoria to new dioceses and deepen/strengthen Pastoral Migratoria in existing dioceses. Utilize in-person and online formats as appropriate.
- Support NPM’s community resource development efforts to provide current and relevant resources for immigrants through parishes Identify and collect information on local immigrant issues, working with local collaborators.
- Prepare reports on program outcomes. Assist in developing and tracking evaluation criteria and in impact analysis. Support data gathering for budgets and fundraising as requested.
*The NPM Office is at the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Bachelors or better in Theology or Social Sciences or related field

Required
- Willing to travel up to 50% of the time across the U.S. This position is based in Chicago, IL. Proficiency in ministry, pastoral formation, and leadership development, including utilizing online platforms (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams)
- Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, as well as videoconferencing.
- Understanding of Catholic social teaching, the See-Judge-Act methodology, and the Church’s evangelization mission. Respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values. Hiring preference may be given to candidates who are Catholic.
- 3-5 years: Experience in formation training preferably in a pastoral context; with a personal and/or professional history with immigrant communities, Knowledge of Immigration issues and legislation.
- Fully bilingual (Spanish/English) with strong written and oral communication skills

This position has an annualized salary range of $58,663-87,994. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
