School Psychology Liaison (part-time, remote)
Department: Student Support Services, Office of Catholic Schools
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Overview
The Mental Health and Evaluation Liaison will serve as a critical bridge between the Office of Catholic Schools and mental health agencies, psycho-evaluation agencies, and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the realm of evaluation and assessment. This part-time role will focus on enhancing mental health support services for students, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mental Health Services Coordination:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mental health agencies, such as St. Raphael, to establish effective referral processes and ensure timely access to mental health services for students.
- Collaborate with LEAs to coordinate mental health support services and ensure a seamless transition for students moving between school districts.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce stigma associated with mental health issues and promote mental wellness in Catholic schools.
- Evaluation and Assessment:
- Oversee the coordination of psycho-educational evaluations for students with suspected disabilities.
- Collaborate with school psychologists, special education directors, and other relevant personnel to ensure timely and accurate evaluations.
- Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations regarding student evaluations and eligibility determinations.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data on student mental health needs, service utilization, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize data to advocate for increased funding and resources for mental health services.
- Professional Development:
- Provide professional development opportunities for school personnel on mental health and evaluation topics, including identification, intervention, and referral.
- Stay current on best practices in mental health and special education
- Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to mental health services, student evaluations, and special education.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong adherence to the Catholic faith, faithfulness to the Magisterium
- A deep understanding of Christian Anthropology and how all of this work is rooted in the dignity of the human person
- Advanced degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
- Licensed or certified in a relevant mental health field
- Experience in school psychology or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
