Description:
We seek a talented and dedicated Substitute Musician to join our music ministry team at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The ideal candidate will have a passion and talent for music and a commitment to enhancing our mission when our Music Director/Primary Musician is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and report to the Music Director and choir to prepare for Masses.
- Perform sacred music using the three liturgical, pastoral, and musical judgments as found in the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops document, Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship
- Attend rehearsals and contribute to the overall musical planning and execution as requested.
- Provide musical support during services, including but not limited to playing instruments and singing.
- Assist in selecting music that aligns with the liturgy and enhances prayer.
- Engage with the congregation through music, fostering a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in playing the piano and vocal performance.
- Experience in the Catholic Church setting is preferred.
- Ability to read music and follow musical arrangements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the music ministry.
