As a member of our community, you will be responsible for supporting the academic and personal growth of our students through engaging literacy programs, collaborative teaching, and expert management of the school library.
About the Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing literacy programs, collaborating with teachers to integrate technology and digital resources into the classroom, and managing the school library collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging literacy programs, including reading challenges and book discussions, to foster a love of reading among students
- Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning, providing guidance on the effective use of educational technology and digital resources
- Manage the school library collection, including cataloging and maintaining resources, and conducting periodic audits to ensure that materials are accurate and up-to-date
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing critical thinking and research skills, using a variety of methods and strategies to engage learners of all abilities
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Library Science, or a related field
- A valid teaching certificate (Elementary, Secondary) issued by the Michigan Department of Ed.
- Experience in STEM learning and a willingness to continuously enrich their teaching expertise through engagement in professional development opportunities
- A commitment to completing the Protecting God's Children training
