GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE:

Oversees and directs administrative functions for the regional parishes including personnel, finance, technology and facilities. Assures compliance with local, state and federal laws/regulations along with Archdiocesan rules, regulations and policies. Oversees activities relating to Stewardship.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:

  • Directs and coordinates between parishes as appropriate, fundraising activities such as Parish Stewardship, Planned Giving, capital campaigns and archdiocesan campaigns.
  • Manages the financial resource systems of the parishes.
  • Assures preparation and administration of capital and operating budgets for the parishes and their schools. Assures accurate and confidential record keeping systems. Creates and oversees tracking system for regional ministry expenses.
  • Evaluates office equipment and technology and manages the upgrade of or installation of new equipment or systems. Directs the preparation and upkeep of asset inventory. Establishes and oversees communication systems between parishes.
  • Directs construction and maintenance functions for the parishes, schools and other properties. Directs management of all parish facilities and grounds.
  • Supervises all clerical, administrative, development and maintenance staff members of the parishes, providing guidance, training, development, and corrective action and dealing with/resolving other employment issues. Selects and trains new employees. Initiates or reviews all terminations.
  • Manages the Human Resources function and its subfunctions including salary administration, recruiting, employee relations, training and communication.
  • Serves as staff resource person for various consultative groups including the Parish Family Advisory Council, Parish Pastoral Councils, Finance Councils, Stewardship Commissions, Maintenance Committee and Building Committees. Provides annual training to those serving on councils and commissions.
  • Provides assistance to the School Principals and School Commissions in implementing financial policies of the parish as they relate to the schools and in the development and implementation of the annual budgets.
  • Provides support to the pastor for the Partners in the Gospel Process which includes support for the Parish Family Leadership Team, the Parish Family Advisory Council, and assistance in the coordination of the consultative events and processes involved in the development of the One Parish Plan.
  • Serves as staff to Finance Councils.
  • Provides feedback and input on parish personnel matters for the Pastor.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Serves on regional or Archdiocesan Committees.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Primary:

Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the archbishop.

Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained ministers.

Strong desire to assist with the growth of the Church.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance, related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

At least 3 years experience in accounting, finance or related business practices.

Experience with a not-for-profit organization or in Church management is a plus.

Possess emotional intelligence skills and ability to build trust with pastor and leadership team members and parishioners.

Demonstrate understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.

Demonstrable interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; initiative and a strong desire to achieve results.

Experience and competence in standard management software tools (Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks).

Experience with human resources activities.

Experience with working in a team leadership environment.

Can be entrusted with highly confidential information.

Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people, including multicultural communities.

Willing and able to work some evenings and weekends.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicants skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
