Position Summary:
Primary job responsibilities are production planning, with a portion of the work dedicated to the development of technological tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our planning processes.
As a Milling Optimization Analyst - Decatur, IL, you will work under the supervision of both the Director of Planning, Optimization, and Analytics and the Manager of Planning and Optimization (Milling). Your responsibilities will include plant production scheduling, linear programming optimization under the guidance of senior team members, and plant production cost analysis. Ensuring the accuracy and verification of results will be vital to drive successful user adoption of the tools.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the current team members to improve the usability, functionality, and visibility of our existing front-end applications that interface with the division's analytical SQL database. This involves working with technologies such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, and ASP.Net/MVC-based web pages. Depending on your interests, you may also be involved in developing data management tools to normalize and clean data.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 0 to 5 years of experience in production planning, tech tool development, or a related field.
- Familiarity with technologies such as C#, MVC, SQL Server, SSIS, JavaScript, Tableau, PowerBI, and R is preferred.
