It’s okay if you don’t have a license in architecture, yet. If you are an architect with at least 1-5 years of experience and have a verifiable track record of successful projects, we want to talk to you. We seek an Architectural Designer who is passionate and ready to be a vital member of a dynamic team.
Work on a variety of projects within the office. Responsible for duties including the design and technical support of architectural projects and preparation of drawings, plans and specifications of project through all phases of design. Work with the project design team to provide architectural design solutions that meets the client’s needs.

Requirements:
· Minimum Bachelor (BArch) and/or at least 5 years of professional experience in all phases of architectural projects
· Architecture license not required, but if you are interested in becoming licensed, API supports continuous education of our employees
· Experience in Education, Commercial, Housing, Healthcare, Aviation and/or Department of Defense preferred and able to work government projects
· Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and other software related to architectural field
·Ability to work with governing authorities to obtain building permits, documenting code review, and approvals
·On-site field investigation and observation during construction may be required
·Experience with building codes and industry standards preferred. State of Hawaii building code knowledge a plus.
·Ability to travel as needed for projects

You can expect to support these functions:
· Assists principals and project managers on projects and coordinates with project team.
·Works independently and collaboratively within a team setting on architectural projects.
·Performs research, site visits, data collection, sketches, and renderings.
·Assists in the preparation of preliminary studies, sketches and renderings of buildings and structures.
· Assists in the preparation of information regarding design, materials, color, and opinions of probable cost or construction time.
·Participates in the selection of systems and equipment and their coordination with engineers of record.
·Assists in the preparation of design drawings, working drawings and specifications for buildings.
·Assists in checking shop drawings for conformity in dimensions, materials and design with contract plans and specifications.
·Conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
·Assist in responding to contractor issued RFI’s.
