What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator position at Architectural Systems, Inc.?
Job Overview/Purpose
To create a productive and successful work environment while producing accurate parts per customer order by direction of supervision. This position is required to program and operate the Brake Press efficiently and effectively. Set up the machine with correct tooling to produce required parts. Keep up with production demands while adhering to safety and quality standards put forth by department Supervisor.
PPE Requirements
Safety glasses, earplugs, steel or composite toe shoes/boots and cut resistant gloves when handling metal. Wear a face shield when grinding.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Wear all appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures and policies.
· Check parts against fab prints to insure part orientation programming is correct.
· Must tool press accordingly.
· Sand and prep parts as needed for the next department.
· Stack finished parts on designated skids for further processing
· Maintain and track completed parts for inventory.
· List them in order of importance.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Some computer skills are required.
· Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
· Must be able to read a degree finder.
· Must be able to use hand, power and pneumatic tools.
· Must be able to or have the ability to learn to read Fab Prints.
· Must be able to perform basic math.
· Must be able to work alone and with others.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout shift.
· Must be able to stand and work 8-12 hours a day.
· High School Diploma preferred.
Job Training
Training will be provided on the job by the department supervisor and/or lead until it is determined new employees are competent to work with minimal supervision. The length of training will be determined by the supervisor.
