Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction management, and the ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers. The Estimator will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and INNERGY to create comprehensive bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers to analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines in coordination with project management teams.
- Participate in bid meetings and presentations to communicate estimates clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with subcontractors and clients.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents effectively.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations is advantageous.
- Project management experience is a plus but not mandatory.
