What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator/Project Manager position at Titan Utilities Inc?
The Wet Utilities Estimator will work closely with the Dry Utilities Estimator and Operations Management to provide detailed pricing for the development of bid packages for potential wet utilities projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
· Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
· Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to plans and cost estimates.
· Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid, and scope clarification meetings.
· Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
· Coordinate with other staff members in performing take-offs, issuing bills of materials to vendors, and obtaining subcontractor quotes.
· Complete bids timely and accurately to attain profitability.
· Prepare bid packages and submit for final review before submitting to the customer.
· Determine site requirements and exclusions and include in proposals as needed.
· Evaluate project scope changes and review and price field change orders as needed.
· Provide administrative support to the management team, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
· Organize and maintain physical and electronic files, ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality
· Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism
· Collaborate with the Construction Department to develop project plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, and budgets
· Assist in the coordination and allocation of project resources, such as labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
· Monitor project progress, tracking milestones, and ensuring adherence to project schedules
· Assist in the preparations and review of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports’
· Assist in managing and maintaining project documentation, including drawings, permits, and project records
· Support the procurement process by obtaining quotes, preparing purchase orders, and tracking project material deliveries
· Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and assisting in cost control measures
· Support the project closeout process, including the completion of punch lists, final inspections, and documentation
· Daily field communication with the field team leader to problem-solve when unexpected issues arise to minimize lost time and ensure customer satisfaction
· Assist in pre-project planning with crew members
· Research and contact Subcontractors for bidding purposes
· Manage Subcontractor scheduling, manage changes, confirm permit submissions and inspections, and approve invoices
· Execute Subcontractor agreements, collect COIs and W-9s
· Coordinate material purchases and deliveries with our purchasing department
Requirements:
· Experience in the construction or engineering industry preferred
· Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to look at computer screens for extended periods of time
· Proficiency in project management software, productivity tools, and computer applications
· Attention to detail and ability to analyze information and data accurately
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
· Relevant internship or work experience in construction project management preferred
· Familiarity with construction contracts, drawings, and specifications preferred
· Basic understanding of construction cost control and budgeting
· Experience with construction software and technology applications
· Technical college, 4-year college degree in construction or related work experience preferred
· Experience and knowledge in wet and dry utilities is preferred
· Ability to read blueprints
· Self-starter who is very organized, flexible, and team oriented
