Overview :
Performs maintenance, repair and refurbishment of equipment at assigned shop. Acts as a subject matter expert for equipment in assigned area.
Essential Duties :
Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
Perform Major Maintenance (MM) and Overhauls alone or as part of a team.
Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
Utilize on the job training of all shop mechanic personnel.
Non-Essential Duties : Performs other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities :
Ability to :
Perform all essential duties.
Demonstrate expert diagnostic, highly efficient troubleshooting, tap root investigation and repair skills on multiple types of equipment.
Perform any scheduled or unscheduled maintenance tasks with no assistance.
Write up a detailed report.
Lead a team performing Major Maintenance (MM), Overhaul and projects with no technical assistance in accordance with company standards.
Perform compressor calculations if required.
Provide expert level customer service and effectively communicate complex issues to customer.
Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc).
Model all health, safety and environmental procedures.
Use computer skills, including vendor specific programs, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
Lead by example by completing and submitting company required documentation in an accurate, thorough and timely fashion and following standard protocols.
Knowledge :
Expert knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, skid wiring, etc., through advanced training or performance verification.
Knowledge of new technologies.
Knowledge of mechanical / electro-mechanical failure analysis and investigation.
Fully understands customer’s facilities / production equipment and how they work.
Fully understands all processes and systems used in the region and how they work regardless of types, makes or models.
Minimum Education and Certification :
Preferred - High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred - Gas or diesel engine and compressor school / training.
Minimum Experience :
Typically at least 10 years’ experience in gas compression.
Preferred at least 3 years’ experience in field operations as a senior level technician for understanding relationships of system functions with customers.
Demonstrated history of successful and safe service experience.

Frequently leads, monitors and checks work of at least 3 technicians.
Trains team members to improve skill, productivity, safety, quality and processes.

Occasionally required to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs and slanted ladders.

Requires no help and covers most difficult situations for Preventative Maintenance (PM), Overhauls, and can run Major Maintenance (MM) projects with no assistance.
Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations of data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and that frequently require new approaches to resolve problems encountered.
Expected to frequently recommend and implement methods and procedures to improve safety, efficiency, quality, cost, etc. within scope of role.

Actions and decisions will have impact on operational results, profitability, schedule performance and customer relationships.
