Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- Deliver instructor-led training and company’s advanced compressor and engine courses.
- Deliver training to audiences, along with subject matter experts at times. Training sessions include classroom and one-on-one coaching.
- Assist managers with developing schedule and maintain training schedule.
- Assist in creating new training material/topics and updating training as needed.
- Assist with creating test items.
- Evaluate student performance and assist with evaluation the effectiveness of the training.
- Stay in close contact with supervisors to assure that training is meeting expectations.
- Ensure that materials and training room (either on-site or at a remote site) is in order and is set-up prior to class.
- Assist with the implementation of training certification plans.
- Interface with field management to help develop training strategies.

Qualifications

- Perform all assigned duties.
- Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Travel up to 70% of time.
- Demonstrate organizational skills and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- LMS (Learning Management System).
- Recognized as Subject Matter Expert in compression operations and compression technical topics (explicit knowledge and skill across package types) and with specifically with Caterpillar or Waukesha engines.
- Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques used for adult education.
- Knowledge and understanding of Company business units and products.
- Knowledge and understanding of production processes and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record and ability to drive a light truck for an extended number of hours a day, several times per week.
- Waukesha GET and ESM certified, or CAT commission certified, maintained as required by OEM.
- Typically at least 10 years experience in a Field Service Technician and/or Service Manager role.
- Experience that brings the tacit knowledge needed to specialize and to qualify for moving into a higher level training and development role.
- Typically at least 3 years of independently delivering all of the basic courses.
- Typically has developed at least 2 courses.
- May serve as a resource to others with less experience.
- Must be able to travel 25% - 50%.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, use PC and talk or hear.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds may be required.
- Occasional travel to field locations. Standing and walking in hot or cold conditions.
- Problems vary, but can usually be identified easily.
- Develops solutions to problems either of limited scope, low complexity or with precedents.
- May suggest and implement process improvements within scope of role.
- Provides technical support to field operations as directed.
- Actions and decisions impact costs and schedule performance in assigned area, but completed work is typically reviewed for accuracy.
