Arclin USA is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Operations Supervisor for our East Longmeadow, MA location. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and oversees the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of all aspects of the production operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage up to ten direct reporting operators, assigning and evaluating their day-to-day work, measuring, evaluating, and correcting performance, and developing employee work schedules and managing attendance.
- Train to become a subject matter expert on operating process equipment such as handling rolls, pumps, mixers, dryers, control panels, troubleshooting production problems, and making necessary changes for maximum efficiency.
- Mentor and train operators on various aspects of the process, creating a team environment conducive to innovation and productivity, supervising production shutdown and start-up for maintenance purposes.
- Serve as the change leader for safety on the production floor, responsible for hazard identification, resolution of safety concerns or issues, accident/incident reporting, and investigations; may act as Co-chair for the Health and Safety Committee.
- Responsible for reporting data using Microsoft Excel and Word, working with computerized maintenance systems for operations-related mechanical issues.
Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent experience in a related manufacturing and supervisory role; an engineering or industrial technologist background would be considered an asset.
- 2-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, leading a team and managing people, demonstrated supervisory skills, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations for the jurisdiction, ability to identify and resolve problems, particularly when working with production data, mechanical aptitude, and experience with computer and factory automation equipment.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Excel, and Word, able to operate safely in a manufacturing environment, potentially lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination thereof.
Estimated Salary:
$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
