What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Ventures Program Manager position at ARCO?
Manage the broad functions of the Community Ventures program within the vocational department and assures that group leaders attend to the details of program operations. This manager assesses the overall support needs of persons with developmental disabilities, especially developmental disability, residing in the parish and responds with inclusive programs for community supports which promote self-determination, choice, and self-reliance. The CV Manager designs programs, seeks funding to address these, develops policy and works with group leaders and staff to develop procedures which meet the identified needs. The CV Manager evaluates the effectiveness of the programs and directs departmental activities accordingly. The CV Manager assures that the mission and policies of the agency and the department are met and manages Community Ventures staff accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- High School diploma with some college or relevant experience considered
- One year of experiences in a relatable field
- Dependable transportation available on the job
Demonstrated ability to:
View the whole of Community Ventures from a perspective that considers national, state, local and agency influences on community inclusion and service delivery.
- Design programs according to such perspective.
- Evaluate effectiveness of a service.
- Manage employees in a manner consistent with applicable laws and agency policy.
- Communicate and coordinate with all functions of the agency to provide day habilitation services in inclusive settings.
- Provide general direction to team to include personnel management, management of participant programs, and overall system.
- Work and interact with community business in a way that promotes the philosophy of the agency and the department.
- Present oneself in a professional manner.
- Have a basic understanding of financial consideration, I.e., budget, expenses and revenues.
- Read, write and communicate verbally with clarity and sophistication at a post-secondary level.
- Work any hours.
- Process and learn information under a variety of conditions.
- Effectively work with families and persons with developmental disabilities.
