We are adding this new position and are seeking an experienced individual with a passion for kitchen designs. This position is primarily a Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Arco LLC, an established Design-Builder with an office in Newton, MA, is seeking a full-time Kitchen Designer. Candidate must be a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience including kitchen designs, elevations, cabinetry system design, tiles, flooring, appliances and fixtures. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of kitchen design: from initial project design visioning and coordinating through construction.
Candidates are expected to work both independently, as well as collaboratively, design-focused, and a proactive problem-solver. Candidate will work on multiple projects and all aspects in a growing design/build practice. The candidate’s responsibilities and requirements shall include the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Work in close collaboration with principal/lead designer and other staff on all aspects of kitchen design and its development
- Work directly with clients, other designers and project managers on a wide range of projects on both speculative developments and private clients to produce an accurate scope of work on projects
- Provide “hands on” technical experience including measuring, designing, and meeting with clients and accepts accountability for all elements of the projects
- Provide material selection options to clients
- Prepare budgets
- Place detailed cabinet orders with cabinet companies
- Coordinate deliveries to job sites
- Communicate and coordinate drawings with clients, project managers, lead designer, etc..
- Produce project documentation for all project phases
Candidates must possess:
- Proficiency in 2020 Design software program, preferred
- Proficiency in Sketchup and Revit, required
- AutoCAD is preferred
- Working knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop, preferred
- Project scheduling experience, Mavenlink, MS Project and, or other scheduling programs, preferred
- Hands on technical experience including with “draw through” software, cabinetry details, its working and inserts
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with, as well as, set and communicate clear expectations with clients, inhouse installers, project managers, etc.
- 3 years of Cabinetry system design, required
- Working knowledge of kitchen functionality including plumbing and electrical systems and how it relates to kitchen functions, as well as kitchen design efficiency and preferences
- Efficiency to thrive in a fastpaced environment while multitasking and maintaining detail orientation of projects.
- Exceptional spatial & design skills for residential kitchens and other home areas
- The skills to be goalfocused, creative and persuasive,
- Excellent problemsolving, planning and organizing skills to work effectively and resolve design challenges
- Practical knowledge and experience in residential kitchen design including product ordering
