Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a Continuous Improvement Engineer II that will be based in our Bossier City, LA plant. In this role, you will drive sustainable continuous improvements across the Marine Business Unit, delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and cost, while building cultural change throughout the organization. The CI Engineer II works closely with each plant's leadership and department employees to achieve results. This position requires strong technical lean manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills, along with a passion for operations excellence to be successful.
Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Under the brand name NABRICO®, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Implement operational excellence and continuous improvement strategies
- Build the Operational Excellence Program across the Business Unit
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements and works closely with plant personnel
- Develop and execute improvement action plans
- Build an employee engaged work environment
- Develop tracking tools and measures to support initiatives
- Develop business case justification for projects and initiatives
- Leverage resources and share best practices across all facilities
- Provide and teach CI tools to team members
- Track and analyze the CI processes and maturity matrices
- Build a CI culture across the organization
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of Five (5) years in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of Three (3) years of CI experience, preferred
- Possess extensive technical skills and hands on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activities
- Strong application knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and related CI tools
- Knowledgeable in Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, value stream mapping, labor analysis, 5S, 8 wastes, and changeover reduction
- Leadership skills required to drive the overall CI process across the facilities
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university (Engineering, Math, Science, Business Management, or Operations is preferred) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Ability to travel – up to 25%
