Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for an NDT Specialist to join our incredible team. This role will be responsible for the administration, training, and certification of VT Level II inspectors within Arcosa Wind Towers. This includes overseeing classroom instruction, assisting with hands-on practical training, conducting quarterly technical reviews, administering certification exams, and maintaining all necessary documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VT inspection in a code welding environment, excellent organizational skills, and experience in training and certification processes. This role reports to the NDT Manager.

What you'll do:
- Classroom Training Administration: Organize and manage classroom training sessions for VT Level II inspectors, ensuring that all materials and resources are current and meet required standards.
- Hands-On Practical Training: Assist with practical, hands-on training for VT Level II inspectors, providing guidance and ensuring inspectors gain the necessary skills to perform inspections effectively.
- Certification Testing: Administer General, Specific, and practical exams for VT Level II inspectors, ensuring all tests are conducted according to industry standards and company policies.
- Quarterly Technical Reviews: Conduct quarterly reviews of VT Level II inspectors, assessing their performance, ensuring continued competency, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each inspector’s training, testing, certification status, and technical reviews. Ensure documentation complies with regulatory and company standards.
- Compliance & Standards Adherence: Ensure that all training and certification processes adhere to relevant industry standards, including AWS, ASME, API, and other applicable welding codes and regulations.
- Support Weld Engineering Team: Work closely with the Weld Engineering team to align training programs with current welding practices and customer specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in the development and improvement of training materials and programs to ensure they reflect the latest industry standards and technologies.
- Inspection Support: Provide administrative support to NDT inspectors, ensuring all necessary resources are available for inspections and that training requirements are met.
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a VT Level II Inspector or equivalent role in a code welding environment (AWS, ASME, API, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a heavy manufacturing/welding environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in welding technology, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- ASNT Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT) or equivalent. Additional NDT certifications in other methods (e.g., RT, UT) are a plus.
- Experience in administering or coordinating NDT training, or in a technical role providing support for NDT programs.
- Strong understanding of welding inspection methods, codes, and standards such as AWS, ASME, and API.
- Strong organizational abilities with an emphasis on documentation, record-keeping, and scheduling of training sessions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with trainees, engineers, and management.

CWI Certification: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position
- This position requires 50% travel to manufacturing sites within the assigned region.
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds which operate 3 shifts and frequent weekend shifts
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Candidates should be comfortable working in industrial environments, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
