What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President, Strategic Sourcing position at Arcosa Brand?
Arcosa, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Strategic Sourcing for its Dallas, TX headquarters. This leader will develop procurement strategies for the acquisition of raw materials, supplies, and outside services as well as leading the company’s procurement/buying strategy. This individual will lead sourcing engagement and vendor negotiations across the Arcosa organization. The Vice President will also ensure performance measurements are created and met, contract compliance is monitored, and vendor compliance guidelines and scorecards are developed and followed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the company’s sourcing and procurement program
- Partner with all business segments to provide flexible processes and practices that ensure a fully compliant organization
- Source steel requirements for business units utilizing Arcosa corporate leverage to maximize effectiveness
- Ensure steel procurement optimizes Arcosa shareholder value
- Drive and demonstrate savings across spend categories, communicating results to executive leadership team.
- Serve as a primary Arcosa contact for domestic and foreign suppliers
- Coordinate steel purchases among business units to ensure sufficient supply, competitive pricing, proper specifications and acceptable quality
- Ensure terms and conditions are clearly understood by business unit and steel supplier
- Negotiate steel purchases with appropriate business unit representatives input and support; business unit leaders must approve final terms. Execute agreements in a timely manner and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Business Unit and Plant Management to establish inventory safety stock levels, reorder amounts, and lead times for all raw materials and finished goods as it relates to Supply Chain to optimize purchasing efforts
- Collaborate with Product Management to source new and alternative purchased goods
- Maintain open communication with business unit leaders and buyers. Facilitate relationship building opportunities between suppliers and business units
- Consolidate and report on combined Arcosa steel activities and requirements
- Assist business units with scorecard reviews with key suppliers at least annually
- Make recommendations to Arcosa management on strategic initiatives, goals, and policies
- Stay abreast of trends within the steel industry
- Drive sourcing synergies when integrating acquisitions
- Lead a small team of experts that oversees facilities engineering, coatings and transportation contracting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 10 years strategic sourcing experience – domestic and international
- Experience within heavy industrial manufacturing with specific sourcing experience for metal & steel commodities
- Strong negotiation skills with a history of driving efficiency and cost savings
- Experience negotiating large contracts and agreements
- Demonstrated financial analysis experience and supply chain methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Organizationally savvy and relationship building skills
- Intermediate to Advanced skills with Microsoft tools
- Detail-oriented, organized, resourceful, and have very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel, as needed (domestic and international) – roughly 2X per month for 2-3 days at a time. International travel will not be heavy
- Bilingual language skills preferred (English/Spanish)
