ARCOSA Specialty Materials is searching for an Engineering Intern for our Mooreland, OK facility. As an Engineering Intern, you will help design, implement, and optimize processes, systems, services, or scientific applications using broad engineering concepts and research techniques. Additionally, you will experience other areas of the manufacturing process; including safety practices and environmental stewardship, product development, thermal processing, maintenance systems, and quality control.
Arcosa Specialty Material is a leading producer and distributor of industrial minerals, including expanded shale and clay, gypsum, limestone, and other miscellaneous minerals. Arcosa Specialty Materials operates manufacturing facilities across the U.S. The Mooreland, OK facility is a gypsum plaster plant with an annual production capacity of 185,000 tons of industrial and flooring plaster products. Plant processes include gypsum crushing/screening, alpha and beta plaster calcining, product fine grinding and screening, mechanical and pneumatic material transport systems, dust collection systems, bulk material mixing and packaging systems, and bulk material loadout systems.

What You Will Do
- Be an active participant in plant safety processes including ARC100.
- Support daily manufacturing requirements, including optimizing existing systems and practices while seeking new methodologies and technologies to spurn operational gains, while maintaining product quality and environmental compliance.
- Develop and sell plant improvement projects for approval in the area of safety, operations, quality, or environmental.
- Assist in production scheduling in a high production, quick paced environment.
- Ensure that internal processes and instructions meet customer demand and requirements.
- The position will be hands on.
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues using data analysis.
- Work with Quality, Continuous Improvement and Maintenance to solve problems.
- Assist manufacturing team in daily production support activities.
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in operations, manufacturing, supply chain or related engineering discipline.
- Must be sophomore status or higher.
- Strong computer and presentation skills.
