What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern position at THE CLIMATE CONTROL GROUP INC?
Job Summary: Support the department supervisor by providing informal leadership in the areas of safety, quality and production. Responsible to diagnose and resolve production problems, monitor quality, maintain production records, reports, and coordinate daily housekeeping.
Responsibilities:
- Train all new employees’ work duties
- Provide feedback on employee performance to department supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work Environment, using 5S
- Review assigned area for safety hazards and assure associates wear required protective safety equipment and work in a safe manner
- Check appropriate paperwork to determine required assembly, and special options
- Check and obtain required material, tooling and supplies to support production requirements
- Comply with all inspection and quality procedures
- Ensure the packaging of finished parts complies with customer (internal or external) requirements.
- Lead in continuous improvement and special projects as directed
- Accept additional responsibilities as assigned
- Diagnose malfunctions in sub-assemblies or components by performing a variety of tests and /or inspections. May assist unit test /repair in diagnosing and testing finished Units.
- Report production and follow-up as needed to ensure completion of repair and/or unfinished units.
- Unscheduled Time Off (UTO) must stay above 40hrs.
- MUST be willing to rotate through all Team Lead positions at CLC
Knowledge/Skills:
- Schedule Exception, JIRA, and systems that we use for manufacturing.
- Good product knowledge and familiarity with essential parts.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion with minimal supervision.
- Good Problem-Solving skills, ability to lead a team while fostering improvements.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Self-motivated, self-directed, and ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Positive attitude, team oriented, and willing to learn and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Willingness to accept additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to follow and abide by all CLC policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials and other various documents
- Ability to use and measure with a protractor, tape, and dial caliper
- Ability to set-up and utilize various production machinery (saws, drills, etc.)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED or Equivalent Experience.
- Product knowledge and familiarity with essential parts.
