Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience in financial management.

This position has the opportunity to be remote, but would preferably be based in Minnesota

Here is what we need our Accounting Manager to do:

• Manage and supervise a global accounting team for all general ledger functions.
• Generate and review monthly financial statements.
• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Review daily and monthly journal entries.
• Manage processes and staff to drive an accurate and efficient month-end close process.
• Perform month-end consolidation activities.
• Delegate work appropriately to ensure department deadlines are met.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide support for annual audits and tax filings.
• Support cash flow reporting and preparation of cash forecasts.
• Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
• Write technical memos supporting adoption of new accounting standards or change in accounting methodology.

What education and skills does our Accounting Manager need?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA certification
• 3 years of accounting experience in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• ERP implementation experience
• International and foreign currency exposure.
