Summary
This position is critical to the overall revenue cycle team, particularly in billing and collecting on old accounts. The Revenue Cycle AR Specialist assists with rebilling coding and Medicaid denials. The individual will identify accounts with credit balances and take appropriate steps to resolve the balance.

Essential Job Functions
- Submits claims for Medical, Dental, or Vision billing.
- Investigating reasons for non-payments on aging accounts, once reason is verified attempt to collect or move forward accordingly.
- Investigating claim denials, addressing discrepancies, and coordinating with insurance companies to ensure timely payment processed.
- Staying updated on healthcare regulations and ensuring billing practices comply with federal and state guidelines.
- Identify potential errors, correcting coding issues, and resubmitting claims for proper reimbursement for private and government insurances.
- Identify credit balances and resolve the balance once researched verifies the accuracy.
- Constant problem solving and communication is required.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to two years of related hospital billing experience or training preferred.
- Medical Billing Certificate required or able to obtain within one year of position.

Certification/Licensure
- Preferred Medical Billing Certificate or ability to obtain.
