Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving them to appointments or social events.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, reporting any changes to the supervising staff.
- Assist with meal preparation and medication reminders as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
- Provide direct support in daily living activities, fostering independence while ensuring safety.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, especially in long-term care or nursing home settings.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Basic first aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and resources available for individuals requiring personal care assistance is beneficial.
- A valid driver’s license is required for transporting clients when necessary.
