Role Description : The R&D Director Lacquers & Printing and Process Innovation is responsible for identifying, planning, and implementing the assigned roadmap of projects, services, process improvements, or qualifications for ODMs and materials innovations to achieve the safety, quality, cost reduction, and efficiency objectives of the Region.
Key Responsibilities :
- Investigate internal and external customer requests and work with team members to develop and propose strategies to provide solutions to meet those needs by developing Business Cases with potential cost savings opportunities with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers.
- Manage a high number of complex projects within the key departmental project teams through all stage gates from idea conception to full plant rollout and commercialization to the approved budget and timeline.
- Lead dedicated expert / specialist teams in a confined, dedicated field of expertise, identifying resource needs and establishing capital project budgets to support the Sector’s business objectives.
- Provide technical assistance to complaints, qualifications, and services (e.g., analytical and testing services) to the manufacturing operations and laboratory to resolve quality and / or productivity issues to meet budgeted goals.
- Provide technical support to technical licensees in the areas of direct materials reduction, technical documentation, and product problem resolution, ensuring timely execution of team deliverables such as high-quality products or service and documentation.
- Lead cross-functional project teams with suppliers and universities that are beneficial to the goals of the organization.

The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $153,100.00 and $229,700.00 per year. This role is bonus eligible. The bonus incentive program is based on the company meeting or exceeding targets. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate and is only applicable for roles that are based out of Illinois. The final salary will be determined after considering relevant factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and work location, where appropriate.
