The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising the quality functions and personnel to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist and serve as back-up to the Quality Control Manager as directed
- Interpret quality specifications and communicate to all applicable departments
- Maintain all pertinent records to adequately monitor quality performance and standards
- Review customer complaints with plant department to ensure corrective action measures are applied to prevent reoccurrence
- Supervise ware audits and report findings along with recommended corrective action plans.
- Interact with customers and customer service representative to solve problems and foster strong customer relations
- Oversee quality lab equipment calibrations and maintenance
- Manage lab supply inventory and ordering
- Manage the measuring of glass containers and provide reports
- Perform activities necessary for the effective management of the quality department by training and developing unionized workforce
- Establish and maintain a safe, sustainable, and healthy work environment
- Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years of experience in manufacturing quality
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment
- Must have excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with management and outside customers
- Must have excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Undergraduate degree in math, engineering, or a related discipline
- Two years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working with SAP ERP
- Prior experience working with a quality management system
- Prior experience working in the glass container manufacturing environment
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
