About the Role:
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is seeking a highly qualified Research Analyst with a strong background in economics analysis, particularly labor analytics. This role requires the ability to independently lead advanced analysis projects with minimal supervision, delivering impactful insights to senior Air Force leaders. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in labor economics and possess the capability to execute PhD-level analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sophisticated economics analyses with a focus on labor analytics, delivering actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Perform data cleaning, advanced modeling, and in-depth visualization to support research objectives.
- Independently lead complex analysis projects, from concept to conclusion, with minimal guidance.
- Build and refine economic models and analytical tools tailored to address labor-related challenges.
- Collaborate with researchers to produce high-quality reports and presentations for Air Force senior leadership.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Mandatory Qualifications:
- A master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Economics, Labor Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science, or a closely related field. (Transcripts required.)
- At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience with data software programming languages such as R, Python, Stata, SPSS, or similar.
- Demonstrated expertise in labor economics analysis, including modeling and interpreting workforce data trends.
- Proven ability to manage and execute high-level analysis projects independently, with little to no supervision.
- Passion for working with PhD Economist researchers on data-driven projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous research assistant experience in labor economics or people analytics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse team.
- Ambition to pursue further studies in economics or related fields.
