Job Description: Ardent Technologies is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our team as a contractor supporting the US Coast Guard at CEU Miami. This position involves providing professional engineering services to manage, design, and oversee construction projects on Coast Guard facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering expertise for projects on the Advanced Acquisition Plan and additional assignments.
- Prepare design documents, including drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and scopes of work for Architectural and Engineering services, Design/Build services, and construction projects.
- Conduct site investigations to collect essential data for new construction or renovation projects.
- Offer in-house civil and structural engineering guidance and perform technical reviews.
- Update enterprise database systems for budgeting, project execution, and construction submittal reviews.
- Collaborate with site contacts, multi-discipline design teams, and contractors.
- Facilitate conceptual design meetings with in-house and site personnel.
- Review and provide feedback on contractor submittals, requests for information, and work schedules.
- Support architectural and engineering designers with Coast Guard-specific project documentation.

About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or registration as a professional Civil or Structural Engineer in a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or similar industry-standard licensure is highly desirable.
General Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in civil engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD software.
- Familiarity with database management systems and materials related to civil engineering tasks.
- Ability to adapt quickly to the office environment with limited government-provided training.
Specific Experience:
- Mastery of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
- Expertise in preparing plans, specifications, and performing structural calculations to meet design objectives.
- Experience managing multi-discipline projects, including planning, designing, cost estimating, and managing construction projects.
- Proficiency in applying current Building Codes and practices for facility construction and renovations.
