About Ardesia:
We are a casual neighborhood wine bar seeking a candidate to join our tight knit team. Wine is the star of the show here with an international by-the-glass and bottle list (Awarded Best Small List (200 or less wines) by the Star Wine List, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence), but we also have a full service bar with spirits, cocktails and beer as well as an eclectic small plates menu. Now in our 15th year, we were voted Best Bar for the second year in a row by local publication W42ND ST. We aim to create an experience for our guests and welcome everyone who walks in the door like a regular whether it is their first or 100th visit. We do this by maintaining a strong internal culture of learning and an emphasis on providing warm hospitality to all of our guests.
Summary: Seeking a dedicated Floor Manager to assist in daily floor duties and overseeing our dedicated and engaged front of house team. This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on management experience and level up their career in hospitality with an established and engaged team.
Title: Floor Manager
Salary Range: $65,000-75,000
Schedule
- 4 days per week including weekends as well as one monthly inventory day (the 1st of every month, mandatory). Days: Saturday through Tuesday
Key Focus
Service Oversight
- Complete oversight of floor operations from presentation to support and corrections of staff. Must be willing to jump in and participate in service where needs be as well as a means of support.
- Serve as a leader during service, setting a positive example. Must bring a positive, problem solving mindset and be composed under pressure.
- Problem solve and mediate with grace any guest issues or complaints.
- Ability to troubleshoot our service platforms, including Toast POS, Resy reservation system, reservation requests via phone and walk-in,etc.
- Be a liaison with the BOH for any updates, and updating the staff for the day and throughout the shift
Daily Tasks
- Make sure deliveries are put away and all product is stocked
- Maintain all applicable stock sheets
- Maintain and forecast correct staff levels based on nightly business flow
- Evaluating the schedule and reservations, setting the service strategy for the evening
- Parties (when applicable) - setting up and breaking down with the help of floor staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. Coordinating with all floor staff (servers, bartenders, runners, hosts, etc.) when and when to not seat the area, assigning roles in advance, etc.
- Provide upper management with a detailed report on how the evening went and any issues to resolve
Monthly
- Oversee our monthly beverage inventory; assisting by taking a count on the 1st of every month.

Physical Demands
- There are physical demands for this role which include lifting in excess of 25 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
- 2 years experience
- Intermediate wine knowledge (ability to navigate a wine list and confidently speak about wine to guests and staff alike)
- Proficiency with Toast, Excel, Slack & 7 Shifts a plus
- NYC Department of Health Food Handlers Permit - if not already a permit holder, it will be mandatory to obtain within 60 days.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
