The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School Community is seeking a transformative, dynamic, and highly motivated Part-Time Parent Liaison to join our award-winning team of educators. This position is essential in engaging and empowering our school community and strengthening the relationship between parents, educators, and students. The Parent Liaison will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every student leaves Wintergreen prepared with the inspiration to create, collaborate, communicate, and discover their passion through innovation and the ARTS.
This is a grant funded position 15-20 hours per week throughout the calendar year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parent and Community Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to increase parent participation and engagement in school events, meetings, and programs. This includes developing content for the schools website, social media sites, and newsletter.
- Collaborate with School Leadership: Work closely with the school leadership team to align parent engagement efforts with the schools mission of fostering creativity, collaboration, and innovation through the arts.
- Communicate Effectively: Serve as a primary point of contact for parents, guardians, and the broader community regarding school events, updates, and opportunities for involvement.
- Event Coordination: Organize and support parent workshops, conferences, and events that promote active parental involvement and support student success.
- Cultivate Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations, community groups, and parents to support student learning and school initiatives.
- Surveys and Feedback: Develop and distribute surveys to assess parent needs, concerns, and satisfaction, using feedback to improve programs and services.
- Promote School Values: Ensure that all parent engagement activities reflect the schools commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and passion for the arts.
- Resource Development: Create and distribute resources and materials to parents that support the development of a positive school culture and community.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the interests of students and parents, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected within the school environment.
