Job Overview

A well-established and growing $60M commercial GC is seeking a Superintendent to oversee field operations and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills to coordinate subcontractors, manage project scheduling, and maintain site safety.

The Superintendent will work closely with project managers and leadership teams to ensure the successful execution of ground-up and renovation projects across various commercial and institutional sectors. This is a hands-on field leadership role that requires expertise in construction methodologies, quality control, and safety enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily job site activities, ensuring that all trades adhere to the project schedule and quality standards.
• Develop, update, and maintain construction schedules, including three-week look-ahead planning.
• Lead and coordinate the work of subcontractors and site personnel to ensure timely progress.
• Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and compliance checks to maintain a safe job site.
• Monitor job site conditions and proactively address construction challenges to prevent delays.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as daily logs, pre-task plans, RFIs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all required permits and inspections are obtained and completed.
• Verify trade partner performance, ensuring work meets quality and contractual standards.
• Collaborate with project management to track budget impact, material orders, and labor efficiency.
• Lead on-site coordination meetings, including subcontractor and progress meetings.
• Train and mentor field staff, including assistant superintendents, foremen, and laborers.
• Manage and resolve construction issues, ensuring compliance with building codes and specifications.
• Conduct final walkthroughs and oversee punch list completion with project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as an Superintendent or equivalent field management role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and scheduling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Vista, Procore, or similar), scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent), and BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents and coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Experience managing multiple projects and delivering on time and within budget.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and site risk management.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Work Environment & Conditions

• Active construction sites with exposure to hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather conditions.
• Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, and other physical activities necessary for job site supervision.
