The Cybersecurity Analyst at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) will support the Base Cybersecurity Office (BCO) by ensuring the security, operational availability, and compliance of IT systems and networks. This role involves assisting with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, vulnerability management, cybersecurity assessments, and compliance tracking in accordance with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policies. The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security incidents, tracking Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM), assisting in Assessment and Authorization (A&A) efforts, and updating Risk Management documentation such as System Security Plans (SSP) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M). Additional responsibilities include supporting cybersecurity audits, compliance inspections such as Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI), reviewing security policies and procedures, and coordinating with external agencies to enhance cybersecurity posture.
Requirements:Candidates must meet the qualifications outlined in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) for Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) – Intermediate, demonstrating experience in cybersecurity risk management, security assessments, and compliance within DoD environments. A bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered. Candidates must hold at least a Security CE certification or an equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II certification, with additional certifications such as CAP, CASP , or CISM being highly desirable. At least five years of experience in cybersecurity, risk assessment, and compliance is required, with proficiency in RMF processes, vulnerability scanning tools, incident response, and cybersecurity reporting. Strong analytical skills, technical expertise in cybersecurity compliance tools such as eMASS and ACAS, and familiarity with DoD security policies, including NIST 800-53 and DoDI 8500.01, are essential. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, with eligibility for a Top Secret clearance preferred.
