2025 Summer Intern, Venture Capital

OPPORTUNITY

BootstrapLabs, an Ares company, has been making Venture Capital investments since 2008 and in 2015 was one of the first VC firms to invest with an AI-first strategy. Since then, we have been investing in visionary founders that solve some of today’s most important and valuable opportunities by applying Artificial Intelligence. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the venture capital industry, working closely with seasoned professionals and contributing to the evaluation and management of our funds and investment portfolio.

ROLE

We are seeking a Summer Intern for our AI-focused Venture Capital Group to provide our investment team with data and analysis in both early stage and growth stage venture to help us manage portfolio construction, fund deployment and our portfolio of investments.

Responsibilities

Assist the team with all aspects of Industry Research and Sourcing, Due Diligence, Portfolio Management, and other Back-Office Tasks

• Investment Research and Sourcing: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities. This includes analyzing industry trends, competitive landscapes, and startup performance metrics.
• Due Diligence: Assist in the due diligence process by evaluating business plans, financial models, and pitch decks. You will help assess the viability and scalability of startups seeking funding.
• Portfolio Management: Support the team in monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing reports.
• Networking: Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to represent the firm and build relationships with entrepreneurs and other investors.
• Back-Office Tasks: Manage databases, coordinate meetings, and maintain organized records of deal flow and communications.
  
  

Qualifications

• Current student working towards a B.A. Finance, Business, Economics, or Data Science.
• Entrepreneurial experience (startups, prior internships, university investment clubs)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to work well collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong personal drive and integrity.
  
  

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 10 weeks (flexible)

Compensation: Paid Internship - the total base salary (subject to change) is expected to be $100,000 (prorated over weeks worked).
