Job Description
Ares Management is seeking a passionate and hard-working Analyst to support Ares’ Global Real Estate ESG team. Based out of our New Yok City office, the Analyst will partner with internal stakeholders – including the ESG team and the Real Estate Investment and Operations teams, to add value by supporting our Real Estate and firmwide ESG strategies. This role will span on-going responsibilities and project-based work across Real Estate and some Ares’ Corporate Sustainability (firm-level) initiatives.
Project-based work includes, but is not limited to, ESG data collection, decarbonization and climate change strategy, and investor and firmwide ESG reporting. See Ares’ 2023 Sustainability Report for more information on the ESG team’s Corporate Sustainability and Responsible Investment Initiatives.

Reporting relationships
Reports to: Managing Director, Real Estate ESG Lead
The Analyst is responsible for the following functions:
Support the Real Estate ESG team with project management and development of internal / external deliverables
Support ESG initiatives across Ares’ global Real Estate equity and debt platforms, including ESG data collection, sustainable building playbook implementation, and carbon foot printing efforts
Project manage and coordinate ESG initiatives with deal, operations, investor relations, compliance, technology, ESG champions, and other internal teams
Work with ESG team members and RFP team on complex ESG-related investor and 3rd party inquiries
Support global real estate data and green building initiatives
Assist with preparation of regulatory, client, and sustainability reports
Support benchmarking analysis and action plans for Ares’ improvements in sustainability practices
Conduct research and communicate findings on ESG industry trends and frameworks, in addition to ad hoc deep-dive research topics
Partner with other strategies across the platform – including credit, infrastructure, and secondaries – to support scalable ESG approaches
Contribute to thought leadership through research and writing, and client engagement through content development and production of presentation materials
Collaborate with other teams (i.e. HR, Corporate Services, IR, compliance, marketing, investment professionals) on building their capacity to progress their own ESG initiatives
Support the maintenance and enhancement of Ares’ ESG capabilities, including staying abreast of industry trends and regulations, and engaging with industry associations
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Experience
Passion for ESG, sustainability, and/or impact investing, with an entry level understanding of (or strong appetite to learn about) ESG data, decarbonization, frameworks, reporting, and industry standard processes
2-4 years of work experience in a professional work environment
Prior experience in an ESG/Sustainability role related to Real Estate. Financial Services or Consulting is preferred
Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel

Strong analytical and written / verbal communication skills, including synthesizing research and concepts into actionable insights and investor-facing deliverables in a timely manner

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$100,000 - $120,000 / annum
